Latin America/Caribbean Chapter

Chapter Overview

Welcome to the Latin America and Caribbean Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates. Our Chapter groups around 40 countries and currently has 104 active members. We are pleased to see that we are progressively incorporating new members with a high motivation and desire to strengthen our organization.

The chapter aims to promote the professional development of its members and create ties that allow us to work together across borders to combat transnational organized crime. We traditionally hold an annual retraining conference where current professional matters are presented with the participation of prominent FBI agents, chapter associates and special guest speakers.

After a long break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we held a recent retraining session in August 2023 at the FBI Miami Field Office, where interesting current topics were discussed by FBI agents and Legal Attachés. In this session, the city of Lima, Peru was chosen as venue for the next 2024 retraining. We are working actively with the FBI International Operations Division, the Legal Attaché's Office of the Region and Peruvian law enforcement authorities in anticipation of a great event. Lima is the capital of Peru, country which is currently recognized for its tourist attraction as Machu Picchu, one of the 7th wonders of the modern world and for being one of the best gastronomic destinations worldwide. There is great expectation of the associates to attend the next conference and meet each other in the Peruvian land.

Working all together we will reach our goals as part of a great network of law enforcement professionals.
